Storm Damage Repair in Nicoma Park
When hail or high wind hits your roof, we come out, walk it and show you what we found in photos. Then the same small crew that looked at your roof does the repair, so nothing gets lost between the estimate and the work.
What a storm repair takes care of
Central Oklahoma storms in spring can drop hail, push straight-line wind and dump heavy rain all at once. Hail dents shingles and strips their granules. Wind pries up tabs and breaks the strip that seals them down. Both can cause a leak months later, when nobody remembers the storm.
Our job is to spot that damage, record it clearly and repair it before water gets in. Some roofs need only a few shingles and a new vent cap. Others are battered across a whole slope, and a roof replacement is the straight answer. Either way, we tell you which and explain why.
Every storm job gets our 30+ years of roofing experience, and our crew stays small by choice. Whoever climbs up for the first look comes back to make the repair.
What we do on a storm damage job
- A full roof walk
- We check every slope, not just the side that faced the storm. That includes shingles, ridge caps, vents, pipe boots, flashing and the gutters.
- Photos of what we find
- You get clear pictures of hail hits, creased tabs and torn flashing, with chalk marks so you can tell what you're looking at. Those photos are yours to keep and share with your insurance company.
- A written, line-item estimate
- Each repair is listed on its own line. You can see what is storm damage and what is normal wear, so nothing is padded.
- Temporary cover when water is getting in
- If a section is open to the weather, we can tarp it down so your home stays dry until the repair is scheduled.
- The repair itself
- We replace damaged shingles, reseal or replace flashing, swap out cracked vents and pipe boots, and fix dented or pulled gutters.
- Cleanup before we leave
- Old shingles, nails and granules get picked up. We run a magnet over the yard and driveway at the end of the job.
Signs your roof took a hit
Granules in the gutters
A pile of sand-like grit at the downspouts after a hailstorm means shingles lost their coating. Bare spots age fast in summer sun.
Dents on soft metal
Look at gutters, vent caps and the AC unit. If they're dented, the shingles above them probably took hits too.
Shingles in the yard
Even one shingle on the ground means wind got under the edge. The ones still on the roof nearby may be loose.
Creased or lifted tabs
From the ground you might see a tab sticking up or a line across a shingle. That crease means the seal broke and the shingle can tear off in the next wind.
New water stains inside
A brown ring on the ceiling or damp insulation in the attic after a storm is a sign water found a way in. Get it looked at before the drywall sags.
What drives the price of a storm repair
Every storm leaves a roof in its own shape, so our price comes from what we see on yours. Each item gets its own line on the estimate, and you can tell where every dollar goes. When insurance is part of it, your policy and adjuster decide the coverage.
How much is damaged
Replacing a few torn shingles on a single slope doesn't take much. Hail hits on every side is more work and can mean a new roof makes more sense.
Matching your shingles
Some older shingle styles and colors aren't made anymore. When a close match isn't available, we go over the choices with you before we order.
What's under the shingles
If we hit soft or rotten decking while we work, it gets replaced. You see the photos first, then it goes on the estimate.
Flashing, vents and gutters
Hail and wind go after the metal as well. Each bent piece of flashing, cracked vent cap or crushed gutter adds to the work.
A storm repair from first call to last nail
- 1
You call and tell us what happened
We find out when the storm hit and what you've spotted since. Then we pick a day to come out.
- 2
We inspect and document
We go over the roof, photograph the damage and look in the attic if you'd like. You hear what we found, in plain words, before we pull out.
- 3
You get the estimate and help with the claim
Each repair gets its own line on the estimate. If you go through insurance, we tell you what the usual steps look like and can meet the adjuster on the roof. The claim decision belongs to the adjuster.
- 4
The same crew does the work
When you give the go-ahead, the same people you already know make the repair. Most storm jobs wrap up in one day. We clean the site and show you the finished roof.

What people ask us after a storm
Do I call the insurance company first, or a roofer?
You can start with either one. A lot of homeowners want to see what's up there before filing. We'll check the roof, photograph it and explain what we found, and then you choose whether to file.
Can you work with my insurance adjuster?
Yes, if you want. One of us can be there on the day of the adjuster's visit, with photos taken and damage chalked so nothing gets overlooked. We don't act as your adjuster or negotiate the claim. Your insurer decides what it pays for.
How soon after a storm does the roof need fixing?
Each policy has its own filing deadline, so read yours. For the roof itself, earlier is better. A lifted shingle or a hail bruise can turn into a leak in the next heavy rain.
Will a repair do, or does the roof need replacing?
That comes down to the roof's age and how much of it took damage. When a repair will last, we tell you. When the damage covers the whole roof, we show you why replacing it makes more sense.
Do you take storm jobs outside Nicoma Park?
We do. We fix storm damage in Choctaw, Midwest City, Harrah, Del City and other towns close by. You'll find the full list on our Service Areas page.
